Binchester Roman Fort
Binchester Fort is situated in the centre of County Durham, just outside of the town of Bishop Auckland. Binchester was the largest Roman fort in County Durham. A small part has been excavated and is open to view. Most of the fort and the remains of the nearby civilian settlement still lie buried in the surrounding fields.

Auckland Castle
As a centre for education and tours, the Castle offers insights into English history since the Norman conquest. In addition, visitors and parties, whether old or young, can experience the exhibition, created in the old medieval kitchens, about St. Cuthbert and the role played by the Prince Bishops in the North.

Durham Castle
Guided Tours of Durham Castle. Entrance is by guided tour only. Each tour lasts about 45 minutes. Tours take place on most days out of term, and each day from Easter to 30th September. For other periods tours are on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Raby Castle
One of the England's most impressive Mediaeval castles, Raby was built by the Nevills and has been home to Lord Barnard's family since 1626. It features fine furniture, impressive artworks and elaborate architecture. Visitors can also enjoy the deer park, large walled gardens, coach and carriage collection, woodland adventure playground, picnic area, tearooms and gift shop.

The Monkey Sanctuary
The Monkey Sanctuary in Cornwall has been the home to a colony of woolly monkeys since 1964. Its original aim was to provide a stable setting in which woolly monkeys, rescued from lives of isolation in zoos or as pets, could live as naturally as possible. The Sanctuary has received world-wide recognition as the first place where this beautiful primate has survived and bred successfully in captivity. Our aim is to secure a protected reserve in the Amazon for monkeys from the pet trade and if possible also to rehabilitate some of the Cornish group.

Lynton & Barnstaple Railway
Located in the South West of England, The Lynton and Barnstaple Railway was opened in 1898 and closed in 1935. Built to a track gauge of 1ft 11½in, it ran for a distance of 19½ miles linking the two North Devon towns from which it takes its name. The present Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Company was formed in 1993 by the members of the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Association, now a Trust, with the aim of reconstructing as much as possible of this once famous narrow gauge railway.
